Endo Support

Updated: Feb 4

In the face of persistent pelvic pain and stomach issues, Georgia embarked on a challenging journey that led to a life-altering diagnosis in November 2019 - Endometriosis. Rather than succumbing to the struggles and stress associated with chronic women's health illnesses, Georgia transformed her experience into a powerful force for change. She recently founded a local Isle of Wight Endometriosis support group, aiming to raise awareness, break the stigma, and ensure that no one faces these challenges alone.

Endometriosis is a condition that affects countless women worldwide, causing pain and impacting daily life. Georgia's personal battle with increasing and persistent pelvic pain eventually led to a diagnosis after exploratory surgery (Laparoscopy) in November 2019. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of her advocacy journey.

Navigating the challenges of getting a diagnosis and coming to terms with a new reality prompted Georgia to seek solace and understanding. She discovered an online endometriosis community that provided crucial support during her difficult moments. Inspired by this experience, Georgia resolved to create a local support group to ensure that others facing similar struggles on the Isle of Wight could find a supportive community.

Georgia's determination to make a difference led to the creation of the Isle of Wight Endometriosis support group. Open to all - whether undiagnosed, diagnosed, awaiting diagnosis, or supporting friends and family - the group serves as a safe space for individuals to share experiences, seek advice, and find comfort in knowing they are not alone. The support group can be found on Facebook under the name @endometriosis south coast Isle of Wight.

Motivated by her own journey, Georgia has made it her mission to spread awareness and advocate for those facing the challenges of chronic women's health illnesses. By fostering a local support community, she hopes to break the stigma associated with conditions like Endometriosis and ensure that no one's life falls apart due to lack of understanding or support.

All are welcome, where ever you are from , undiagnosed, diagnosed, waiting diagnosis or people who have family members and friends suffering.
