Olympic Goals

In the dynamic world of virtual reality (VR) sailing, Arthur Farley of Wootton has once again left an indelible mark, showcasing his prowess in the recently concluded RDRC transatlantic race. Racing against an impressive field of 27,934 skippers/players, Farley secured a remarkable 3rd place in the grueling 2,900-mile race that spanned from Lanzarote to the tropical paradise of Grenada.

Clocking in at an impressive 15 days, 5 hours, and 20 minutes, Farley's performance was nothing short of spectacular. His tenacity and skill were evident as he finished only 11 minutes and 39 seconds behind the leader, solidifying his status as one of the world's great VR sailors.

Farley's journey to prominence in Esailing began in 2022 when he emerged as one of the top VR sailors globally. His achievements include being the vice world champion in 2022, clinching the Olympic Esport series, and securing the EsailGP world title in 2023. Furthermore, he proudly holds the title of the current and two-time GBR national champion for the years 2022 and 2023.

However, Farley's dedication to excellence extends beyond the virtual waters. When he's not immersed in Esailing, he can be found training rigorously or racing his ILCA7. With his sights set on Olympic glory, Farley is tirelessly working towards earning medals on the grandest stage of them all.

Farley's list of achievements is a testament to his commitment to sailing excellence:

  • Part of the British Olympic squad focused on the 2028 and future games

  • Transitioned to a full-time athlete in September 2022

  • ILCA 7 Standard U19 champion in 2022

  • ILCA 7 Vice national champion in 2021

  • ILCA 6 Laser Radial U19/17 national champion in 2020

As Farley continues to navigate both virtual and real-world challenges, the sailing community eagerly anticipates the next chapter in his remarkable journey. Whether it's conquering the Esailing world or chasing Olympic dreams, Arthur Farley remains a beacon of inspiration for aspiring sailors around the globe.
